THE CHALLENGE

The current project poses a significant challenge as it involves managing approximately 200 structures scattered over a vast 82-acre site. The project team, comprising 30-35 members, has limited resources, with only 14 off-road buggies and one forklift to handle the work spread across the site. This situation calls for an effective solution to optimize the team's productivity and ensure timely project completion.

THE SOLUTION

To overcome the project's challenges, innovative solutions were implemented. JSI was used along with sensors to monitor temperature and humidity levels in non-climatized wood-framed structures with wooden interiors for two years. This provided valuable insights into fluctuations and their impact on interior wood finishes. GPS sensors were also deployed to track the movement and location of vehicles, including off-road buggies and golf carts, enhancing operational efficiency.

THE RESULT

The implementation of JSI, along with stackable sensors, provided valuable insights into the conditions of the wood-framed structures. Fortunately, the data collected revealed no significant fluctuations in temperature and humidity, and there were no major issues detected with the interior finishes.

Furthermore, the utilization of GPS sensors, integrated with JSI, proved to be indispensable in identifying instances where multiple vehicles, such as off-road buggies and golf carts, were parked in the same location. This was particularly crucial considering the project team consisted of 30-35 members, while there were only 14 vehicles available. Such situations often left some team members without access to transportation. However, thanks to the GPS tracking system, the team was able to identify these trends and promote the practice of cart-pooling, similar to carpooling, when team members were working at a common location.

Moreover, the integration of the GPS system within JSI facilitated efficient servicing and maintenance of vehicles by enabling the project team to quickly locate them. This ensured that the vehicles remained in optimal working condition and were readily available when needed, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the project.
