THE CHALLENGE
The Regina RCMP Training Center underwent a building expansion that required the disconnection of the building’s standard fire detection system throughout the project. With workplace safety in mind, there was an urgent need to be able to continuously monitor the site for potential fire hazards in order to keep the building and its occupants protected while the system remained offline.
THE SOLUTION
Smoke sensors were installed throughout the construction site and alerted personnel through JSI in the event that smoke or combustible gas was detected.
THE RESULT
JSI monitoring enabled peace of mind for the builder and occupants and allowed for the site to remain code-compliant with the removal of the standard fire detection system during construction.
The smoke sensors were able to:
● Detect smoke from potential fire hazards
● Detect combustible gas from gas leaks within the building
● Provide safety measures within the building
● Remotely monitor the job site with JSI
